Trip to Poladpur

Uncertain Plan to Poladpur was just the right decision and it turned out wonderful. Poladpur is situated in Maharashtra State, Raigad district. From Mumbai it would be around 200 km. Raigad district is famous for the Raigad Fort which was hold by Chhatrapati ShivajiMaharaj and made it his capital in 1674. When he was crowned as the King of a Maratha Kingdom which later developed into the Maratha Empire, eventually covering much of western and central India. The best time to come here is winter or in the starting of the rainy season.

Weekend start's and our journey too we left around 3.00 pm from Mumbai by car which was quite comfortable journey. As we were on weekend mode so we took several halts and the beauty of the place tempts you to admire the beauty.

The place is like heaven on earth, when we see the greenery, mountains, rivers its like a perfect view. We were really blessed that day because of drizzling of rain, the clouds meet the mountains, and it was all together a poem for me. As the ghats started the temperature goes down and we were laterally shivering. So we decide to take stop and have tea but coming to Rigad and not having the Vada-pav then it’s not worth.
Vada-Pav & Onion Bhajiya

After refreshing Snack, we headed to our destination. The road was good but due to rain, twist and turn we were moving late to as per our scheduled time.

We Reached around 10:30 pm and it was dark and raining heavily.
The house was really awesome typically old style. The wall was made of red stones and flooring was made of mud which really work well in summer and winter too, in kitchen there was a chula (Cooking Stove).

Now it’s time to show some cooking skills as cooking is also one of my favorite past time. There was a Chula in the kitchen but we made on extra Chula for grill.

The next morning, it was raining but it’s truly mesmerizing. It was like the emigration come true, it was like a painting which we usually think in our childhood, the mountains house and the river which come along to the side, and Yes it was the same like that, and because of the rain the clouds was the cherry on the cake.

While coming to Mumbai we also explore Mahabaleshwar which also a very good place to visit.
will surely give some more information about the Mahabaleshwar in my upcoming posts.
