Navratri – The Nine-day festival.
The word Navratri means the nine nights in Sanskrit and it’s
celebrated all over in India.
In every region it has different meaning of celebration, one of the significant reasons is the battle
which took place between Durga and demon Mahishasura. The victory of God on
evil & it’s also one of the way of welcoming the autumn.
People keep fasting on these 9 days do Chanting mantras and
Bhajans, the celebration of these nine day's which show the different culture,
their attire & the folk dance.
Each day of Navratri is associated to the Goddess:

1 - The Goddess Shailaputri (The Daughter of Mountains).

2 – Brahmcharini Mata.
Day
3 – Devi Chandraghanta Mata.
Day
4 – Kushmanda Mata.
Day
5 – Skandamata Mata.
Day
6 – Katyayani Mata
Day
7 – Kalaratri Mata.
Day
8 – Mahagauri Mata.
Day
9 – Siddhidhatri Mata.
